The Death Spiral of the Islamic Republic III

These little stories illustrate a great event, indeed a world-changing event: the death of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Khamenei and Ahmadinejad, and the rest of the evil empire in Tehran, are all dead men walking. We don’t know the schedule for the funeral yet, but Iranians know it’s on the agenda. One will get you ten at my betting window that, aside from a very thin veneer of top officials (for whom there is no hope, for they will fulfill the demand of the nightly rooftop chants), anyone who is anyone in Iran today is trying to make a deal with Mousavi and Karroubi. They are all whispering that their hearts are green, and always were green.

Fall of the Bastille Prison

Minus: When a megalomaniac dies, their whole world ends. When a regime based upon religious megalomania is about to fall, its supporters can be willing to make our world end.

If and when the Islamic Republic collapses, will they finally use their weapons of mass destruction (not just the nukes that they may or may not currently have, but dirty bombs and chemical/biological weapons)? Or perhaps even worse, rather than letting the infidels take their weapons, would they transfer these weapons to terroristic Jihadis?

Scary. Very, very scary...

Religion of Peace -- My Rosy Pink Ass!

Institutionalized punitive rape in the Islamic world:

Read the comments. A lot of folks are terrified cowards who are emotionally and intellectually unable to believe that there are profoundly bad people out there in the real world. Sadly -- that's how the Nazis were able to come to power in Germany -- and they didn't have a whole religion backing them up.

Some Religions, In Some Places, are MUCH More Equal than Others

Two Christian girls. Two sets of distraught parents. And two state courts smack in the middle of it. Good article here.

Amanda Kurowski (10) -- Forced to Attend Public School for Exposure to Diversity of Religions in NH: One of these courts is in New Hampshire, where a judge recently ordered that home-schooled Amanda Kurowski be sent to public school. The order signed by Family Court Justice Lucinda V. Sandler says the 10-year-old's Christian faith could use some shaking up (WTF!?! -- I'd like to see the judge say this about some Muslim) —and that the local public school is just the place to do it. So while the child's lawyers at the Alliance Defense Fund, a Christian legal outfit, filed a motion asking the judge to reconsider, last week Amanda started fifth grade at a local public school.

17-year-old Rifqa Bary is (so far, at least) Allowed Refuge from Islamic Parents who Have Threatened her over her Conversion to Christianity: Miss Bary fled to Florida from Ohio a few weeks back, where she sought refuge with a Christian couple whose church she had learned about on Facebook. She says she ran away from home because her father discovered she'd become a Christian—and then threatened to kill her (is this equivalent to a "shaking-up"?). On Thursday, Circuit Judge Daniel Dawson ordered the girl and her family to try mediation and set a pretrial hearing for the end of the month.

In related news, being a Glow-bull Warming Nut is now officially a religion:

In the first case of its kind, a UK employment tribunal decided that an employee had views amounting to a "philosophical belief in climate change", allowing him the same legal protection against discrimination as religious beliefs.
The whack-job Judge said at the employment tribunal: "[Nicholson] has certain views about climate change and acts upon those views in the way in which he leads his life. In my judgment his belief goes beyond a mere opinion."
This … may create an abundance of litigation in the future as the tribunals will have to weigh an individual's belief against the yardstick of current popular thinking." Oh great -- and so now these "tribunals' get approval on new religions (like worshipping shrubberies mebbe?) -- how soon before they get the power of DIS approval of existing religions (like crazy sects that believe in JC as our savior).

Remember Forever

Most of the country seems to have forgotten.

Some even want to force those of us who DO still remember to discard this memory.

Listen to her real-time recording here. Very moving.

I'm gonna contact her to request that she publish her videotape.
Perhaps others will do the same.

God bless all who died that day.

The UN is COMPLETELY Worthless and Corrupt

If there was any doubt that the UN is COMPLETELY worthless...

The UN has declared Fidel Castro, the longtime Communist dictator of Cuba, the “World Hero of Solidarity.” Castro killed thousands and thousands of people during his rule, torturing some to death (including a few American citizens), and Cuba remains an oppressive dictatorship even today.

The award was presented to Castro by the President of the UN General Assembly, Miguel D’Escoto Brockmann. D’Escoto Brockmann also successfully lobbied the Obama Administration to demand that Honduras allow the return to power of its ex-president and would-be dictator, Manuel Zelaya.

Read it all here.

Yes -- at first I also thought that it had to be a parody. Sadly and incredibly, it is NOT!

This essay sums up everything about the UN.

A Strength of Christianity

Blatantly stolen from Philmon at the Clue-batting Cage:

"I much prefer people who have standards and sometimes fail to live up to them over people who never fail to because they have none.

Update: A comment I added after Morgan expounded a bit:
Of course I'm talking about moral standards and the Saul Alinsky rule concerning them (rule #4, I believe). Sarah Palin's a hypocrite because her daughter got pregnant out of wedlock and the Palins are Christian believe abortion premarital sex are wrong. Bill Clinton, on the other hand, is just fine because getting blow jobs from interns in the Oval office as well as being married ... well, see he's a liberal and pre and extramarital sex are just fine for liberals because ... well they just are. I mean, if they weren't that would be so puritan.

In the words of Jesus himself, even the just man sins seven times daily. In other words, we are weak. We fail. But if we have standards we try to live up to, we are better people. Christianity has some pretty good ones. The vast majority of the raps against Christianity are actually examples of people failing to live up to it.

It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the standards.

Ever hear the term, "don't throw the baby out with the bath water?"

If I had to pick between the Palins and the Clintons to be my neighbors, the Palins would win hands down."

Said far better than ever I could. A number of my friends and relatives pretend to despise Christianity because some Christians (i.e. all but one -- JC hisself) are imperfect Christians. This posting puts things in perspective.
